The next time the world
condition seems overwhelming,
and we’re tempted to say, “One
person can’t really make a
difference,” we’ll think of
ten-year-old Madison
Crook. This girl, wise
beyond her one decade, saw a
story on television one morning
about children drinking water
from a contaminated river in
Africa. This water, used for
laundering, drinking, bathing,
and animal waste, is causing
10,000 deaths per day. Madison
realized that this situation is
unacceptable. She asked her
mom, Susan, to help her pray
about it, and the two of them
came up with the idea of having
a tea to raise money to dig a
fresh-water well.
Madison and Susan have decided
to have an American Girl Tea
Party – American Girls Saving
Lives Around the World.
Their goal is to raise $4,800
while having fun with a tea
party, auction items for all
ages, plus entertainment. The
ladies would be happy to accept
donations, volunteer help, and
in-kind items. Please contact
Susan at
www.AmericanGirlTea.com
or call 913-484-5085. One
person, one cup of tea and one
Sunday, July 13th CAN
make a difference. And, as
Madison pointed out recently,
“Mom, it’s been eight seconds,
one more person just died.”
